Fabrication
When OEM components are discontinued, back‑ordered, or simply no longer made, Bay Safe & Lock steps in with a unique advantage: long‑standing partnerships with select local machine shops. These relationships allow us to recreate or upgrade critical safe components—bolt‑work cam plates, relocker housings, spindles, hinges, dial rings, and more—quickly and to exacting tolerances.

How the Process Works
-
Failure Analysis
We remove the damaged or worn part, conduct dimensional checks with calipers and micrometers to ensure an exact match of all original dimensions. -
Material Selection
Based on the safe’s UL rating and intended use, we specify the correct alloy—hardened steel, brass, or stainless—ensuring it meets or exceeds the strength of the original component. -
Precision Machining
Our partner shops leverage CNC milling, turning, water‑jet, or EDM processes to produce parts within thousandths of an inch. Because they understand security hardware, they prioritize clean finishes and tight tolerances essential to safe operation. -
Quality Verification
Once machined, each part is inspected for fit, hardness, and smooth operation. We perform a dry‑fit in our shop, followed by full functional testing inside the repaired safe. -
Installation & Documentation
The new component is installed, lubricated, and re‑tested. We provide the client with detailed documentation of the repair and the upgraded materials used.
Why This Matters
-
Faster Turnaround: Local machining means we can get your parts fabricated quickly.
-
Exact Fit & Function: Custom fabrication guarantees seamless integration and restored security rating.
-
Extended Service Life: Modern materials and updated designs often outperform original components.
-
Cost Efficiency: Replacing a single part can save the cost—and disruption—of replacing the entire safe.
Through this blend of locksmith expertise and precision manufacturing, Bay Safe & Lock keeps even the most obsolete safes in peak condition—delivering reliability you can trust, without compromise.
